Udovič Jože:
The Boat
Let me stay
this night far out,
alone upon the swelling wave,
upon the wave that changes darkly
everything that breathes.
And in the boat of change
I’ll play, in the boat of desire
carrying it off,
on the wave of shadow, which is cold,
on the reflection which weaves at night
long wreaths
and hangs them on the marked man’s
neck. Let me stay
with the night, without illusions,
on the wave
that seeks no shores,
in the boat of the shadow that carries it off,
not knowing
where it will land.
