Joze Plecnik has left his mark on three European cities, Vienna, Prague and Ljubljana. Ljubljana became for him a life's work in urban planning. He built magnificent public buildings and parks, and regulated the flow of Ljubljanica river so that it no longer flooded and became a focus for city life.

The collection of visual impressions of Slovenian landscape, both rural and urban, is a photographic attempt to present a multilayered historical country with deep imprints of the long and fascinating history of Slovenia, traced through preserved historical buildings, townships and villages, and museums which contain ancient artifacts and documents.

There is a particular focus on the capital city Ljubljana, with its 2,000 years recorded history, which is reflected in phenomenal urban planning, architecture from Roman to the post-modern period, and exciting recent archeological discoveries.

Slovenia is comprised of six topographical regions, possessing a complex network of watercourses and lakes. The albums offer a panoramic view of the diversity of Slovenian regions, from the snow-covered peaks of the Alps, and fertile Pannonian plains in the north, the rolling green hills of the centre and thermal mineral springs of the north-east, to the mysterious Karst with its wonderous caves and vanishing waterways, and the picturesque Adriatic coastline in the south.
