400 Years Old Vine Festival in Maribor

The grape vine on the Lent in Maribor has been officially recorded as the oldest vine in Europe and entered into the Guiness Book of Records. The annual 400 year old vine festival in October is attended by the representatives of European countries, from all over Slovenia and the local population. The grape picking is a great event, and the wine pressed from the grapes is presented to important visitors, such as Bill Clinton.

The collection of albums represent celebratory events in the life of Slovenian community in Australia and Slovenia.

Australia has become a second home for about 25,000 Slovenes, who started to arrive in greater numbers since 1950. They have settled in all the states of Australia, the majority in Melbourne and Sydney area.

The series of albums has been inaugurated with events in the Melbourne Slovenian community and parallel traditional celebrations in Slovenia, reflecting the common experience of two homelands and frequent exchange visits.
