Video Lecture (in 3 parts)
SLAVOJ ŽIžEK, the philosopher The New Republic calls "the most dangerous philosopher in the West", came to the University of Vermont to speak about "Ideology in Hollywood Today". It was so well attended that people were sitting in the aisles and standing in lines out the back doors.
Aside from being a noted philosopher, ŽIžEK is also a social theorist, cultural critic, and author of over 30 books, including "Looking Awry", "The Plague of Fantasies", and "The Ticklish Subject".
Earlier that day Zizek had done a Q&A with the Film and Television Studies classes that had read his books.
